Kuhmo rapids and Lentiira Holiday Village provide a wonderful setting for fly fishing camps. Summer 2023 will be already fourth ear in a row that we collaborate professional fly-fishing guides Kanerva Kilpelä & Petri Virolainen. This time we will organise international camps with English and/or French speaking guides:
International Special Rapids | June 16 - 19, 2023 + 4 days independent fishing
During Special Rapids camps you will get familiar with local Kuhmo rapids, Akonkoski and Kaarneenkoski among others. At the praised Kaarneenkoski, both grayling and trout records are really in danger!
The workshop themes are efficient nymph fishing, surface fly fishing and, if desired, also stream fishing. If necessary, we also go through various fly fishing gear, wigs, indicators, safe wading in the rapids, fishing techniques and especially rapids reading.
Due to the limited number of fishermen allowed on the rapids, we only take 8 participants to this camp. Small group allows individual teaching by the national fly-fishing masters.
Prize for week
The week package includes 3 days guidance and teaching in three different rapids. For the 4 following days you can choose which rapids in the area you wish to do on your own. Prize for minimum 2 persons:
Small cottage 1680€/person
Midsize cottage 1812€/person
Third person in the same cottage 1132€/person
Including:
- 3 days guidance and fishing permits for Kaarneenkoski, Änättikoski & Akonkoski
- 7 night accommodation in private cottage
- fullboard meals (breakfast, packed lunch, dinner)
Excluding:
- fishing permits for independent fishing days
- boat rental for lake-fishing

Behind the program organizer Palkes, you will find active racing anglers Kanerva Kilpelä and Petri Virolainen. Over the years, their national and one international medal in the field of competitive fly fishing has accumulated in their prize cabinets. In addition to competing, the duo updates their own fly fishing skills abroad each year under the guidance of top international fishermen.
